Truth


This morning I read an awesome meme that said:

"The enemy didn't tempt Adam and Eve to murder, steal or tell a lie.  He tempted them to question the word of God. 
His tactics haven't changed." 

We live in a world that claims, "this is my truth...". 

But too often that means we have we neglected to consider, understand, or apply GOD'S truth.  And when we choose our truths over truth itself - we make ourselves our own gods.

But there is One above us.  One who knows more, sees more, understands more, and can do more that we ever could.  He is the One who created the universe and keeps our world spinning, and He is the One who gives us breath and allows us to make our choice of sovereignty.

When we choose to prioritize OUR truths above HIS, we are choosing to rebel against the One who made us, while Satan laughs and gleefully claps his hands.

If you want to know and learn God's truths, open the Bible.  Get a good teacher.  I recommend the Through the Word app.  The folks who created it have a mission to "equip the world to read the Bible, understand it, apply it, and make it a habit".

It is the beginning of a new year...let's see what God has to say about truth.

"Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long." - Psalm 25:5

Happy New Year! I woke up this morning feeling PEACEFUL and I am both grateful and a little stunned because certainly  all is not right in the world.  Overnight there was a devastating fire that killed dozens in a Swiss Ski Resort.  The protests in Iran are intensifying.  And Russia rang in the New Year with a massive strike on Ukraine.  The news - as always - is bad.  But I have peace! Winning Plays Aren't Made From the Sidelines

It is interesting to me the number of people who like to sit on the sidelines and complain. My social media feeds are full of people posting, whining, and despairing about all of the injustice, disparity, and things that are "wrong" in the world.  But words are cheap, and winning plays aren't made from the sidelines. Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu once said, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step..."    And so then the question I have for all of my pen and ink social justice warriors is, "have you suited up and stepped into "the game?"  Are you willing to do more than complain"? The Bible says, "Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause" - Isaiah 1:17 Yes, there is evil in this world, and yes, people are suffering.  But if you are not giving of your time, treasure or talents to correct the wrongs you see, then simply posting over and over again isn...
