Well hello there.

How are you doing today?

Is your life everything you want it to be, or are you still searching for that thing that will fill you with peace, joy, and a sense of fulfillment?

If you're still restless and searching I wonder if I can take a minute or two of your time.

Ten years ago, my life was a mess.  Even though I had a wonderful job, a man who said that he loved me, a big beautiful house in an affluent neighborhood and lots of people I called friends - I felt empty.  That emptiness caused me to look for the thing that would fill the void in my life.  I tried alcohol.  I had an affair.  I continued to climb the ranks at my company, but nothing worked.

I know now that I am not alone.  Here are some truths experienced by EVERYONE at some point:

  1. EVERYONE feels empty.  Whether you've got a huge bank account, are a movie star, or are surrounded by things that others might envy, chances are you have felt empty, that there is more to life than what you're experiencing now.
  2. EVERYONE has felt lonely.  It doesn't matter if you are married, have a bazillion followers or TikTok or a ton of people you call friends, each of us has experienced a deep void that can't be filled by people.
  3. EVERYONE has felt guilty.  When we do things that we know are wrong, we feel guilty.  This is not unique.  Everyone has things in their past that they are ashamed of, things they wish they could undo.
  4. EVERYONE will experience death.  We're all aware of our mortality and we all know that at some point this life will come to an end. For some, this is a really scary thought because death represents a finality we don't like to think about.
But the good news is GOD has an answer for all of that - Jesus.

God created everything in this world.  He loves us and desperately wants a relationship with us.  However, our sin makes that impossible because "the wages of sin are death".  That's why He sent Jesus.  Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life, and then allowed himself to be nailed to a cross to pay for our sins.  Jesus died but later rose from the dead to show that through our belief in Him, we can have eternal life.  He said, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die."

If you've been searching for that thing you hope will finally make you happy, I urge you to invite Jesus to come into your life.  Just say,

"Jesus, I need you.  I've been trying to live life without you and it's not working.  I've got things in my past that I am ashamed of, and I believe you died for my sins and came to give me new life, hope and a future.  I ask you to come into my life, cleanse me of my past, and make me new. I thank you,  Amen."

I hope this gives you encouragement.
