Happy March!

Do you all remember the story of the Hungry Caterpillar?  I used to read this book to my son when he was small.  It is the story of a little caterpillar who eats and eats and eats yet continues to be hungry.  He eats an apple, two pears, three plums, four strawberries, five oranges, cake, ice cream, a pickle, swiss cheese, salami, a lollipop, cherry pie, a sausage, a cupcake and a watermelon...but they don't satisfy, they only give him a tummy ache.

But after going through his days looking for things to quench his hunger, he finally stops, eats one nice green leaf, builds a cocoon, and then emerges as a BEAUTIFUL butterfly!

I find that my journey as a Christian was a lot like that of the little caterpillar.  For years - no DECADES, I went around HUNGRY for the thing that would satisfy.  I ate my own share of "stuff" in order to fill that void...but nothing did.  That is until I decided to turn my life over to Jesus (that one good, green leaf!).  Then, EVERYTHING CHANGED.

I am not that same caterpillar (little ground-crawling slug) I once was.  I am transformed.  Because I understand now that I am a child of the most-high God.  Creator of the universe.  Giver of life.  What a difference that has made!
Like the little caterpillar who turned into a butterfly, I can now SOAR.

The Bible vese 2 Corinthians 5:17 captures the way I feel, "Therefore if anyone is Christ, the new creation has come.  The old is gone, the new is here."

If you are hungry and have been unable to find satisfaction in the things of this world - I urge you to look to God.  Say, "God, I need you.  I have tried to fill the void in my life with things of this world and I realize now, what I have been searching for is you.  Come into my life and transform it.  Amen."
