"And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new...” Revelation 21:5
Last night in Michigan it snowed - a lot. This morning everything is covered in a thick blanket of white. It looks fresh, and new, and beautiful.
I believe the view outside is a perfect picture of what happens to us when we get to the end of ourselves and finally accept Jesus into our lives.
The world looks different. We BECOME different. The blood that Jesus shed for us on the cross covers our sin, and allows us to come into a relationship with God, the creator of the universe, the author of our lives.
Every day God offers us the opportunity for renewal, a chance to return to the spot where sin wasn't what defined us. Those who accept His offer of forgiveness are made new. However, to do so requires that we recognize it is GRACE that is being poured out on us. Grace that says even though we have done things (and will do things) that are sinful and deserving of death - God doesn't want that for us. He wants a relationship with us. He wants to be our father. And He was willing to die for us to make that possible.
Are there things that are standing in the way of you accepting Jesus? Then confess them and ask the Lord to come into your life.
