I MIGHT BE TALKING ABOUT YOU BEHIND YOUR BACK…
So, yesterday was Easter – and at church they talked about how the risen Jesus gives believers HOPE.
There were videos of people talking about what they were looking forward to about getting to Heaven.
Answers varied, but
most people said something like:
- “I’m really looking forward to seeing my grandma.”
- “I’m going to go up and hug my parents, I miss them so much!”
- “I can’t wait to meet Jesus and to thank Him what He did.”
Some
were a little different –
- “I can’t wait to play ball with my boy – he died in childbirth…”
- “My husband died this year, and I’ve got to tell you, it’s been tough – but I know he’s okay now, not hurting anymore – so it will be really good to see him again.”

On
the way home, I was talking to Jim – and I asked the question, “How can Heaven
be heavenly for me, when so many people I know don’t believe in God or the
resurrection of Jesus?”
We talked about my parents, my sister and her family, my aunt, uncle, and cousins. We talked about sooo many of my friends. We talked about co-workers and neighbors, and I concluded that a lot of people I know and love do NOT know the hope of Jesus. And, when I think about Heaven, I know mine will feel very incomplete if they are not there.
So,
yeah – I may be talking about you behind your back - when I pray to God that He
will open the hearts and minds of the people I love to consider, just for a
moment, that what the Bible says is true:
That
there is something BEYOND this world, and that our existence here is NOT just
an accident or some coincidence of the cosmos, and that MORE THAN ANYHING – God
wants you to open your eyes to the truth.
“Open
my eyes to see the miracle – wonders hidden in Scripture” – Psalm 119:18 (TPT)
