Million Dollar Question

 


I know, I know….they tell me that TikTok is owned by the Chinese Government and iFunny is owned by Russia; but if truth be told – I love them both.  I love the funny memes, I love the recipes, I love the little exercise tips…I love it all!  But, every so often I see something that makes me sit up and say, “huh…”

Today was one of those days.

I was surfing iFunny when I came across a video of an older man posing a question to a younger man.  The old man said, “What would you do if I gave you $1 Million dollars”.  The young man replied, “I would be really, really happy!”

So, then the older man said, “And what would you do if I gave you $10 Million dollars?”  The younger man said, “Oh man, that would blow my mind, but I would be grateful.”

The old man nodded and then asked, “Okay, but what if I told you the only way you could have the $10Million dollars was if you agreed that today was your last day alive.  Would you still want it?”  The young man emphatically started shaking his head and said, “No, in that case I wouldn’t want it!”

Then the older man said, “You’re saying you wouldn’t want the $10 Million dollars if today was your last day…so, are you living like today is a $10 Million dollar day?”  The young man said, “WOW – I never thought of it that way!”

Neither had I…

That short little video helped me to realize that EVERY SINGLE DAY God allows me get out of bed, needs to be lived like it is a $10 Million dollar day. 

“This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!” – Psalm 118:24

Hi there - today is my 400th post and I am wrestling a bit... so I'm asking for your prayers. The Journey to the Cross (Day 4 - THE LADDER)

In the city of Jerusalem stands a church called  The Church of the Holy Sepulcher.   It has been proposed as the place of both the death and resurrection of Jesus, and it has been a place for pilgrimages since the 4th century. Considered holy, the site is cared for by no less than six denominations including Greek Orthodox, Armenian Apostolic, Roman Catholic, Coptic, Ethiopian and Syriac Orthodox.  As such, it has been carefully parsed out into sections.  And sadly, arguments and violent clashes are not uncommon. Jim visited the church once on a trip with Northridge and told me about "The Immovable Ladder".  Apparently the ladder is a " bizzare outcome of religious stubbornness pushed to extremes. The Journey to the Cross (Day 3 - ONLY JESUS)

Today’s Holy Week post has me thinking about the 12 disciples. ONLY JESUS Can you name Jesus' 12 disciples?  If you've been watching The Chosen or reading your Bible regularly, you might be able to.  However - there are some, who - at least for me, are a bit in the shadows. Sure I know Simon/Peter, and his brother Andrew .  And then there was James and John, the sons of Thunder (or Zebedee to be exact).  There was Matthew, and Thomas, and Judas Iscariot.  And there was Simon the Zealot, and another James...but...but...a nd here is where my mind isn't as good at remembering.   So I Googled it.
