I started this blog 156 days ago with a post on 2/27.  I did so, because I felt that God was calling me to write, and to share the gospel.  And though I'd never done a blog, or anything like this - I said "okay, let's see where this goes..."

Since then I have written and posted an entry EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING...

  • I wrote when I was on vacation.
  • I got up and posted before 4am on the long travel day heading to Nicaragua.
  • While in Nicaragua, I was in the kitchen at 4:30 every morning - listening to the kitchen ladies singing, and working to ensure you had some note of encouragement early in the day.
  • I posted when I had covid and couldn't get out of bed...
  • I've posted from the hospital as I watched over my ailing father.

I feel I've been asked to post - and so I do...

Readership for each post varies:  The post I wrote on March 31st, "In like a lion and out like a lamb" had just 6 views.  The one about loss 105, and when my friend Sabrina reposted the "I hate John Bland" entry - I got as many as 455.

Most days, I end my posting with something that says, "If you are enjoying this blog - please consider clicking the FOLLOW button." So today - after 156 days, I checked, and there are 12 followers.  Just 12.

My initial reaction was to be disappointed - but before I could even give that a second thought - God loudly spoke to my heart and said, "12 is great!  Look at all I was able to do with 12!!...

WOW!

Well, my dear followers - here's the deal.  As I've already said, this blog was a result of God nudging me to share the gospel.  But today, I think He just told me - he wants YOU to share it too.  For He knows there is an end date - when all of this will pass away, and that people who have made their choice to live without His love and mercy will get their wish. He also knows that version of eternity will NOT be a good one, and it's one He doesn't want for anyone.  So SHARING becomes really important.

Our goal should not be to convince anyone - but rather just to plant the seed by telling people the good news:  That life can be so much more.  That the guilt and shame they have over past misdeeds has be forgiven, and that Jesus died on the cross to ensure they had a place in heaven.

This is a message that Satan doesn't want people to hear; and he uses all sorts of distraction, and whispers all sorts of lies, and promotes all sorts hurt to keep people from the message of salvation.  Cast him out!  Speak to your friends, family, and neighbors - be bold in your proclamation - because 12 followers is a really, REALLY good number.

"He appointed the twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach, and to have the authority to drive out demons." - Mark 3:14-15

"He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.'" - Mark 16:15
