Vision Correction

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services nearly 93% of all people over the age of 65 wear some type of vision correction.

That means at certain points in our lives we don't see as well as we should...

In a sermon my pastor gave last week - that fact took on a different meaning.  He said the "lens" we look through has a direct impact on the life we lead.

If we look through the lens that says "There is no God.  This is all there is.  Life is short and then you die..." then our view tends to be one of:

  • "Get it while you can"
  • "I got mine"
  • Scurry
  • Worry
  • Want, and
  • Frustration
However, if we look through through the lens that says our time here on Earth as temporary, that God is real and that He sent his son to die for us, and that one day soon we will be welcomed into an eternity where there is no more sin, suffering or pain, then our view will be one of:
  • Hope
  • Joy
  • Contentment, and
  • Caring
We will be able to experience a fullness to life that those wearing the wrong lens - can't even imagine.

Jesus is our eye doctor.  He is the one who can open our eyes to the truth, and to help us live the rich full life God has intended for us.

"Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes.  Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly." Mark 8:25
