BOLD “Like a Child”
The other day my husband and I talked about a meme we’d both seen. It said, “Whatever you must do today, do it with the confidence of a 4-year old in a Batman cape”.
For me, the meme brought back memories of the Batman birthday party I’d had for Max when he was four. I’d made little Batman muscle shirts complete with cape, belt and batarangs.
We told the boys Batman needed their help and we put them through a series of “training exercises”. In the end each got a certificate signed by Batman himself! And do you know what? I spotted each of those little four year olds in their shirts and capes around the neighborhood for the rest of the summer!
In my case - I remember (and have pictures) of a time when my sister and I balanced a long board between a step in our basement and a chair. We donned leotards and crowns and put on a “show” for our parents - “wowing” them with our not-so-impressive balance beam skills.
But sooner or later we all grow up. And now that Max’s friends are all in college - I suspect they’ve experienced what we all have... “Life” has kicked some of their confidence out of them.
But that’s not life - is it? It’s Satan! And he wants nothing more than to convince you that you are less than the creature God made you to be. That you are something less than a beloved child of the living God…
Don’t let him!
You have a job here. It is to boldly proclaim the good news to those who have not heard it, and to live your life in such a way that makes people stand up and take notice.
So today, put on your batcape, your crown - or better yet, the full armor of God (Eph. 6:10-18), shove aside your fears and get out there with the confidence of one who is loved by the creator of the universe!
“The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid.” - Psalm 27:1
