Rose Parade

OMG!

That's all I can say...

I mean for YEARS I've seen it on television - this New Year's Day tradition held in Pasadena each year.

I've listened to the commentators, I've ogled at the intricacies of the floats… but I MUST tell you, if you ever get the opportunity to see the Rose Parade in person - DO IT.

The game was great.  But the parade was AMAZING!!!!

And as I watched it I couldn't help thinking about this:

"And why do you worry about clothes.  See how the flowers of the field grow.  They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you - you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or "What shall we wear?'  For the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly Father knows you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well." - Matthew 6:28-33

We all have a tendency to worry; worry about things that are beyond our control.  Worry about things that cause us undue anxiety and strife.  But we are reminded, "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?  Since you can not do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?" - Luke 12:25-26

The beauty of the floats, all covered solely with organic material MADE BY GOD, reminds me God - not me, is in control.  And I will live my best life if I stop worrying, and just trust.
