Did You Know?

Did you know that from the time we are born until the time that we die our ears and nose continue to grow?

Pretty weird thing - and one I thought about last night as I went to sleep listening to the Abide app.

The night time meditation was "Our Faithful God," and as the narrator was reciting each Bible verse, talking about the promises of God and how they are trustworthy and true, I thought, "I KNOW THIS ONE!"

Verses like:

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.  Great is your faithfulness." - Lamentations 3:22-23

"Fear not, for I am with you.  Be not dismayed for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and protect you.  I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10

"Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.  For I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your soul.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."Matthew 11:28-30

"Peace I leave with you - my peace I give to you.  Not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your hearts be troubled.  Neither let them be afraid."John 14:27

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  The old has passed away.  Behold the new has come."2 Corinthians 5:17

"'For I know the plans I have for you', declares the Lord.  'Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11

These are just some of the promises God has made to those who trust in Him.  These are things I never knew until I started reading the Bible.

But if our ears and noses keep growing over the course of our lifetimes - shouldn't our faith and knowledge of the Lord grow too?

The Bible is the key.  And in reading it, I'm finding that God has begun to "write His words on my heart..."

What a wonderful thing - as knowing the promises of God, helps me face EVERY situation.

"I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts.  And I will be their God, and they shall be my people." - Jeremiah 31:33
